In the Spring of 2026, the Board of Governors of The Presbyterian College adopted a new Strategic Plan—an exciting and encouraging plan to guide the life and programming of the College in the coming years. In the process of adopting this plan, the leadership of the college prayerfully considered who we are and where we are as a college—what are the gifts God has given, and how are we called to share those gifts today and into the future. The result is this exciting and forward-looking plan.

Identity of The Presbyterian College
The Presbyterian College is a vibrant community of worship, learning, and friendship. We have our life with the risen Jesus, we experience joy in his presence, and we discover our calling through the Spirit he breathes on us. Our roots are deep within the Presbyterian and Reformed tradition, which we inhabit and share with gratitude. We welcome students from diverse theological traditions and the global church. We are discovering what it means to live in Christ’s love for the church and for our world and communities.
Mission of The Presbyterian College
The mission of The Presbyterian College is to enrich the theological, biblical, and cultural understanding of Christians, to strengthen them in the faith-filled pursuit of their vocations, and to deepen their relationship with Jesus. We fulfill this mission through degree programs, through creative workshops, seminars, and training, and through intentional formation in spiritual practices. We have this mission at the corner of Milton and University streets in Montreal, and it extends from there into communities, congregations, and organizations in Canada and globally.
Commitments of The Presbyterian College
Christian Study Centre — We are committed to establishing a Christian Study Centre that will welcome students of McGill University into reflection on theology, vocation, and culture. Through its worship, programming, and community life, the centre will equip students to integrate faith with their academic and vocational formation. We will discern what Christian faith and ethics mean for the companies, organizations, and communities through which we (will) pursue our vocations.
Theological Education in French — We are committed to the flourishing and expansion of our Master of Theological Studies program (Practical Theology). Through this program we are also dedicated to supporting French-speaking communities and congregations in Quebec and in the French-speaking world. With a particular focus on missional theology and neighbourhood engagement, we are equipping transformational leaders for church and community.
Congregational Leaders — We remain committed to forming leaders who will guide the church creatively and faithfully in the secular age. Local congregations are the foundation of Christian life and witness, and the continuing formation of pastoral and lay leaders is vital to the church’s faithfulness and flourishing. Through theological reflection, the building of leadership competencies, and imaginative engagement with culture, we will equip and form faithful leaders to support communities of worship and witness.
Spiritual Life — We are committed to the deepening of each person’s relationship with Jesus, through Spiritual practices. Engagement in theological reflection and formation for our vocations also involves engagement with scripture and pursuing practices of hospitality, prayer, fasting, sabbath, peacemaking, and charity. We are committed to pursuing these for the formation of our hearts and the enrichment of our life with Christ.
