Les deux premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es d\u2019\u00e9tudes menant \u00e0 l\u2019obtention de la ma\u00eetrise en th\u00e9ologie (MDiv) se d\u00e9roulent \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole d\u2019\u00e9tudes religieuses de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill<\/a> (dans le cadre du programme de baccalaur\u00e9at en th\u00e9ologie (BTh) offert par cette derni\u00e8re), tandis que la derni\u00e8re ann\u00e9e du programme de ma\u00eetrise en th\u00e9ologie est dispens\u00e9e en partenariat avec les coll\u00e8ges de l\u2019\u00c9cole de th\u00e9ologie de Montr\u00e9al<\/a>. Ma\u00eetrise en divinit\u00e9, 1re ann\u00e9e<\/h4>\n\n

D\u00e9tails du programme : La premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e du programme de ma\u00eetrise en th\u00e9ologie (MDiv) n\u00e9cessite la r\u00e9ussite de 10 cours (30 cr\u00e9dits). Parmi ceux-ci figurent les 8 cours obligatoires suivants. Deux cours compl\u00e9mentaires suppl\u00e9mentaires doivent \u00e9galement \u00eatre suivis. Si un \u00e9tudiant doit suivre des cours de grec pour satisfaire aux exigences de sa confession religieuse, ceux-ci sont dispens\u00e9s par le d\u00e9partement des lettres classiques (en collaboration avec le d\u00e9partement d\u2019\u00e9tudes religieuses). Church and Empire to 1300(RELG 322)<\/td>A survey of major developments in the history of Christianity fromthe end of the apostolic age to 1300.<\/td><\/tr>

Principles of Theology(RELG 333) <\/td>A survey of major developments in the history of Christianity from the end of the apostolic age to 1300.<\/td><\/tr>
Intro \u2013 Phil. of Religion(RELG 341) <\/td>Introduces essential sources in western philosophy and theology and theirarguments; attends also to historical development of ideas. <\/td><\/tr>

Christianity in Global Perspective(RELG 479)<\/td>An exploration of global theological and ecclesial expressions of Christianityincluding with attention to the history of Christian mission.To be taken subject to availability of the course.<\/td><\/tr>
Advanced Theology(RELG 434)<\/td>Examination of the nature of theology, and particular theological loci,through readings in major theologians. <\/td><\/tr>
Theological Ethics (RELG 470)<\/td>Examines ancient and modern sources of Christian moral thoughtagainst a backdrop of contemporary alternatives.<\/td><\/tr>
Advanced Greek (RELG 381)or Elective<\/td>A review of grammar and syntax with an emphasis on rapid reading of sectionschosen from different parts of the New Testament.<\/td><\/tr>
Exegesis(RELG 411 or 481 or 410)<\/td>Students who require Greek will enrol in either RELG 481 or RELG 410.Non-Greek students take 410.<\/td><\/tr>
Bible, Complementary(RELG 407 or 408)<\/td>A complementary course in the Hebrew Bible area \u2013 either looking atthe Prophets or the Writings.<\/td><\/tr>

Ma\u00eetrise en divinit\u00e9, 3e ann\u00e9e<\/h4>\n\n

La troisi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e du Master of Divinity exige la r\u00e9ussite des cours obligatoires (30 cr\u00e9dits) ainsi que d\u2019autres exigences ne donnant pas droit \u00e0 des cr\u00e9dits. Ces cours et ces exigences sont, pour la plupart, suivis conjointement avec des \u00e9tudiants d\u2019autres coll\u00e8ges dans le cadre du programme MST, deux cours (6 cr\u00e9dits) \u00e9tant suivis en tant que cours sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 une confession. <\/p>\n\n

Supervised Field Placement(MST 500 \u2013 12 credits)<\/td>The placement takes place over the full academic year and represents 40% of MDiv 3. Students participate in typical ministry activities in a congregation or community organization and the regular practice of theological reflection. Also includes requirements for Field Placement Groups and the Integrative Paper. <\/td><\/tr>
Congregational Mission(MST 561 \u2013 3 credits)<\/td>An exploration of the mission of the church, with particular reference to localcongregations and competencies for missional leadership.<\/td><\/tr>
Principles of Preaching(MST 531 \u2013 3 credits)<\/td>Explores the fundamentals of sermon preparation, exegesis for preaching, developing a message, and sermon structure. Also includes a preaching tutorial. <\/td><\/tr>
Pastoral Care(MST 511 \u2013 2 credits)<\/td>Introduction to the basic skills of pastoral care, and exploration of the particular gifts and challenges the student brings to this ministry.<\/td><\/tr>
Education and Formation(MST 541 \u2013 2 credits)<\/td>Examines educational theory, theology and practice, and develops skills and knowledge for ministerial leadership in faith formation and education<\/td><\/tr>
Congregational Leadership(MST 562 \u2013 2 credits)<\/td>Provides students with lenses to study the congregation, and explores the variousdynamics of leadership, particularly in the context of ordained ministry<\/td><\/tr>
Presbyterian History, Polity and Worship (PC 522 \u2013 3 credits)<\/td>This course explores the life of the Presbyterian Church in Canada in terms of itshistory, its worship practices, and its government.<\/td><\/tr>
Reformed Confessions and Ecclesiology (PC 582 \u2013 3 credits) <\/td>Explores the Reformed theological tradition through the lens of its ConfessionalHistory \u2013 considering the themes of church, ministry, sacraments, and thethemes of creation and salvation.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n

Intercultural Experience(MST 390)<\/td>An intercultural learning experience which in recent years has taken the form of a one-week study tour in Cuba, learning from and with partner organizations in Cuba.<\/td><\/tr>
Preaching Workshop<\/td>A preaching workshop is held in the Fall term.<\/td><\/tr>
Pastoral Care Workshop<\/td>A pastoral care workshop, on a specific theme in pastoral care, held in the Winter term.<\/td><\/tr>
