The 158th Convocation of The Presbyterian College, Montreal
The Presbyterian College is excited to announce that it will host its 158th Convocation on Thursday, May 14th, 2026. Each year we look forward to this opportunity to celebrate a new class of graduates, as well as gather with other members of The Presbyterian College community. We hope to see you there!
Convocation Speaker
REV. DR. MARC DEBANNÉ is an associated Professor at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at Laval University, teaching at the École de Théologie Évangelique du Québec, and pastor at the Oasis Church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (ACMQ). He completed a PhD in New Testament at McGill University and his research is in the area of Pauline literature. Marc has also lectured within the Practical Theology program of The Presbyterian College.
Principal’s Award
JOEL SHERBINO AND REBECCA SHERBINO will receive the Principal’s Award for Leadership, Faith, and Work at Convocation 2026. Rebecca will receive this award for her work with as Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Raw Carrot, which addresses the underlying causes of poverty and marginalization in Canada through supported employment. Joel will receive the award alongside Rebecca for his work as a Pastor and for his service in support of Prison Ministry in Malawi. Congratulations Joel and Rebecca!!
Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa)
The Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa) will be conferred on the REV. PATRICIA VAN GELDER for her faithful service in pastoral ministry (including for two decades at St. Andrew’s Cobdon, Ontario), for her service in the wider community (including in founding the Lakeside Community Chorus), and for dedicated service in mentoring young ministers and supporting colleagues.
