In this colloquium doctoral and post-doctoral researchers offer new perspectives on
ancient Biblical texts by reading them from an African and Middle-Eastern perspective, both in
critical reflection on and in dialogue with Western readings of the same texts. Thus a fruitful
discussion is opened between historical-critical and contextual readings of the Bible and their
impact on the problems of today, both in terms of post-colonialism, climate change, gender,
interreligious dialogue and world politics.
