In a beautiful and moving Convocation Service held at the historic Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, we had the honor of marking a significant milestone in our students' academic journeys.
During the ceremony, we granted MTS degrees to two students and recognized those receiving degrees from affiliated institutions. Additionally, we awarded an Honorary Doctorate and the Principal’s Award.
Rev. Dr. David Miller, this year's Convocation speaker, delivered a thought-provoking speech. With a background in Pennsylvania and long-standing roles in Quebec, including as Professor of Systematic Theology at the École de Théologie Évangelique du Quebec and director of its Study Centre for Service, Peace and Reconciliation, Dr. Miller's insights on faith and service deeply resonated with the audience.
Mrs. Donna McIlveen received the inaugural Principal’s Award for Faithful Service and Distinguished Leadership. Her extensive service to the Presbyterian Church in Canada, including roles as Director of Christian Education, Administrator and Treasurer for the Order of Diaconal Ministries, and long-term Clerk of Synod of Quebec and Eastern Ontario, was recognized with deep appreciation.
Rev. Ian Fraser was awarded the Doctor of Divinity degree (honoris causa) for his exemplary pastoral work at St. Columba-by-the-Lake Presbyterian Church in Montreal. His creative ministry, leadership in food security initiatives, and contributions to various denominational roles were celebrated.
The event began with a Graduates' Reception, followed by the Convocation ceremony at the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul. The evening honored the dedication and achievements of these remarkable individuals and celebrated the accomplishments of our graduates.
The sanctuary echoed with inspiring words, heartfelt prayers, and the joyous sounds of celebration as graduates, faculty, family, and friends gathered to honor the hard work and dedication of the Class of 2024.
To the Class of 2024, we wish you the very best in all your future endeavors!
